This position is responsible for mixing and loading chemicals, warehouse organization, delivery, and daily operations of the agronomy location. Responsible for creating a positive work environment, in addition to providing exceptional customer service, while striving for maximum efficiency in operations. Must support operations through problem solving, adaptation. Must have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change. This position requires extended work hours during peak seasons, including weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Operate a Junge control system
- Organizes day-to-day operation and determine work practices and procedures to optimize utilization of resources
- Responsible for optimizing department daily efficiencies
- Supervise mixing, loading, dispatch, and delivery of product to customers
- Duties related to the appropriate application of chemical and fertilizer products such as calculating product amounts and calibrating equipment.
- Oversee and ensure inventory is in place and accurately accounted for.
- Performs recordkeeping functions related to inventory, scheduling, parts ordering, etc.
- Monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Assists management in planning equipment purchases and facility improvement
- Ensure facilities and equipment are well maintained, organized and appropriate records are kept for both compliance and replacement schedules.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the retail agronomy industry. Advanced expertise relating to mechanical, equipment, and record-keeping. Familiarity with farming environments, knowledge of chemical and fertilizer requirements, and application techniques, knowledge of geographic area including types of crops and farming requirements and cultural practices would be helpful. Demonstrated planning, organization, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to maximize productivity within a team environment. Must have the strong ability to calculate accurately and efficiently.
